Ground Turkey Taco Frittata features turkey sausage bursting with taco seasoned flavor, colorful sweet mini peppers, creamy eggs, and melty cheese. A healthy yet flavorful breakfast!
My husband gave me the idea for this recipe. One morning, I was cooking turkey sausage and could not decide how I wanted it seasoned. So he suggested I use taco seasoning. It has been a huge hit that I have made several times since!
What is a Frittata?
A frittata is an Italian egg-based dish. It includes eggs, meats, cheeses, and/or vegetables. What I love about a frittata is that you can put any combination of meat, veggies, and cheese you want in it. Anything goes! Although a frittata is an Italian dish, I chose to go with more of a Mexican frittata recipe.
What I love about this Ground Turkey Frittata Recipe
I love that this is a healthy ground turkey frittata yet super flavorful. You can use pre-packaged taco seasoning or make my Homemade Taco Seasoning. Then you can store it for later use. I also love that this recipe is really simple to make.
Frittata Versus Quiche
What is the difference between a frittata and a quiche? A frittata is cooked at a higher temperature to create a firmer texture and does not have a crust. A quiche usually features a crust and is more custard-like with cream. A frittata is usually cooked in a skillet or pan while quiche is made in a pie or quiche pan.
