Cranberry Moscow Mule is a tasty and festive winter cocktail. An easy recipe made with cranberry juice, vodka, and ginger beer. Makes a wonderful holiday or entertaining drink!

What is a Cranberry Moscow Mule?

The perfect Christmas Moscow Mule Recipe! Or any winter holiday in between… With cranberry juice, ginger beer, and vodka. Plus, garnish with rosemary and cranberries to make it extra festive. I like to add a little simple syrup for the perfect amount of sweetness to the tart cranberry juice.

A traditional Moscow mule has vodka, ginger beer, and lime. Served in a copper mug to keep it cold. I tested the recipe with fresh lime but found that it overpowered the cranberry. I left it out of the recipe, but love the flavor and aroma the fresh rosemary adds.

Ingredients

Ingredients

Cranberry cocktail, ginger beer, and your favorite vodka. For a sweeter drink, add simple syrup or cranberry simple syrup.

What is the Best Ginger Beer?

I used the Kroger brand for this recipe because that is what I had on hand and I like the taste. I also like Gosling, Q, and Fever-Tree brands. They all have a slightly different taste. Some have a more powerful ginger taste than others.

How to Make a Cranberry Moscow Mule

  1. Fill a copper mug approximately halfway full with ice. Add in vodka, cranberry juice, ginger beer, and simple syrup (if using).
  2. Stir then garnish with a sprig of rosemary and cranberries. Adjust to taste. Enjoy!

Cranberry Moscow Mule Mocktail

This cranberry Moscow mule recipe can easily be made a mocktail by simply removing the vodka. Ginger beer doesn’t contain any alcohol so it is safe to use. If you need to dilute the taste, add a splash of club soda.

How to Garnish a Moscow Mule

A classic Moscow mule is simply garnished with lime. But this holiday cranberry Moscow mule is garnished with a fresh rosemary sprig and frozen cranberries for a festive cocktail! Other garnish ideas are; fresh mint leaves, fresh berries, or go traditional with a lime wedge.

Can you Make Moscow Mules in a Pitcher?

If you are having a party, you can set out all of the Moscow mule ingredients so guests can make their own. Alternatively, you can make a pitcher. Just multiply the ingredients to make a larger quantity. You can adjust the number of servings on my recipe card to help you achieve this.

Easy Moscow Mule Tips and Variations

  • For a sweeter drink (which I prefer), add simple syrup. You can buy it to have on hand for your home bar or make it yourself. Or add cranberry simple syrup for more cranberry flavor.
  • Substitute vodka for rum or gin.
  • Serve in a copper mug to keep it cold. Which is always recommended for Moscow mule recipes!
