Caramel Apple Snickers Salad is a perfect dessert or side dish for summer or fall potlucks, BBQs, and holidays. A mixture of tart and sweet apples, Snickers candy bars, and homemade caramel whipped cream. A quick and easy no-bake treat made without pudding and cool whip.

Apple Snickers Salad is a midwestern treat! So is it a side dish or a dessert? It can be either! My mom used to serve it as a side for get-togethers but it makes the perfect dessert as well. It is perfect for a potluck, bbq, or holidays, and can be served in either the summer or fall. Traditionally made with green apples, Snickers candy bars, vanilla pudding mix, and cool whip. But I love taking a vintage recipe and updating it. Like my Berry Pretzel Salad. We are using both sweet and tart apples and Snickers candy bars tossed in caramel whipped cream. It is super quick and easy to prepare and perfect for your next gathering!

Serving Suggestions

I recommend serving with chopped snickers on top and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Serve as either a side dish or a dessert.

Tips for Best Apple Snickers Salad

chopped apples and snickers on a cutting board
  • Cut ingredients into bite-sized pieces. I cut the fun-sized candy bars into 4 pieces.
  • You could toss the apples in lemon juice to prevent them from browning if desired.
  • If refrigerating before serving, take the salad out of the refrigerator before serving to allow snickers to soften.
  • Make the same day you plan to serve for the best results.

Best Apples to use

For this recipe, I am using a combination of granny smith and gala apples. You could also use Fiji, honey crisp, golden delicious, jazz, pink lady, or anything similar. I like the combination of both sweet and tart apples.

Do you Peel Apples for Snickers Salad?

No need to peel the apples. Just core and chop into bite-sized pieces.

Substitutions for Snickers Candy Bar

  • Unreal dark chocolate caramel peanut nougat bar
  • Milky Way
  • Twix
  • Three Musketeers

Can you Make it Ahead?

I recommend making the salad the day you plan to eat it to prevent the apples from browning or getting soggy. However, you can make it a day ahead if needed. It still tastes good however the apples do start to brown.
