Ingredients

  • 2 shots espresso or approx. ⅓ cup strong coffee
  • 3-4 tsp cocoa or cacao powder
  • 3-4 tsp sugar or sweetener of choice
  • ⅛-¼ tsp peppermint extract see notes
  • ¾-1 cup milk of choice

For Iced Peppermint Mocha

  • ice

Toppings (optional)

  • whipped cream
  • crushed candy canes
  • chocolate sauce or curls

Instructions

For a Hot Peppermint Mocha

  • Add brewed espresso or strong coffee to a mug. Stir in cocoa powder, sugar, and peppermint extract until well mixed. Steam the milk and pour it over the top.
    Finish with whipped cream and crushed candy canes if desired.
    Serve.

For an Iced Peppermint Mocha

  • Add brewed espresso or strong coffee to a glass.
    Stir in cocoa powder, sugar, and peppermint extract until well mixed. Pour in the milk then top it with ice.
    Finish with whipped cream and crushed candy canes if desired.
    Serve.
