Pear Oat Bars are naturally sweetened and gluten-free. Made with juicy pears for a healthy breakfast or snack.

Pears are widely available throughout the year including winter, so you can make Pear Oat Bars anytime! Made with oat flour and flaxseed meal which supply your body with fiber, antioxidants, and omega-3 fats. The apple sauce and greek yogurt help make them super moist. They are sweetened with juicy pear, date paste, and honey to make these a healthy and delicious treat. Enjoy them for breakfast, snack, or dessert.

What is Flaxseed Meal?

Flaxseed meal are flaxseeds that have been ground. Ground flaxseed is easier to digest than whole flaxseed. Flax meal has a mild, nutty flavor and is packed with omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and fiber. They are a great source of plant-based protein.

You can use flax seeds or flax meal in smoothies, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, baked goods and they can also be used as an egg substitute when combined with water.

Type of Pears to use

Bartlett, Bosc, and Anjou pears are widely available in grocery stores year-round. Pear season begins with Bartlett pears in late summer, followed by Bosc and Comice which are in season in fall through winter. And Anjou is a winter pear. Other pear varieties can be found in grocery stores when in season. I used a bartlett pear for this recipe.

It’s winter and the pears have been so soft and juicy lately. There is nothing like biting into a pear that drips juices down your hand! My daughter is obsessed with pears right now; for good reason, which is why I created this recipe.

How to Make Pear Oat Bars

This recipe only uses one mixing bowl. It feels like there is always an endless supply of dirty dishes in my home. So the fewer dishes the better! These bars are really easy. Just mix together the wet ingredients, add in the dry ingredients, fold in the pear then pour it into the baking dish.

  1. Combine all wet ingredients which include; yogurt, apple sauce, date paste, honey, and vanilla extract in a medium mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.
  2. Add dry ingredients; oat flour, flax meal, baking soda, and cinnamon to wet ingredients. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Gently fold in the chopped pear.
  4. Pour batter into the baking dish.
  5. Bake. About 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when poked in the middle. Let cool, slice, and serve.
