Maple and Brown Sugar Baked Oatmeal

Baked Oatmeal

I love breakfast but have never really loved oatmeal. That is until I started making baked oatmeal! I love the texture of baked oatmeal versus regular. Brown sugar and maple syrup give this baked oatmeal recipe such an amazing flavor. It is super easy to make, just combine the ingredients and bake. Then top with fruit and a splash of milk. Kids will love it too!

FAQ’s

Can you Make Baked Oatmeal Ahead of Time?

You can prepare the oatmeal mixture the night before (unbaked), cover, and refrigerate. Then put it in the oven in the morning for an easy breakfast.

Alternatively, you can bake it, store it in the refrigerator, then reheat individual portions in the microwave as needed. I recommend adding a splash of milk before reheating.

Do I Need to use Baking Powder for Baked Oatmeal?

Yes, baking powder lightens the oatmeal. If you don’t use it, the bake will be denser.

Is Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal Gluten Free?

Yes, the recipe is gluten-free. Sometimes oats are processed in the same factory as other wheat products so use gluten-free certified oats if necessary.

How to Make Vegan Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal

To make the recipe vegan, make sure to use plant-based milk and swap the egg for a flax egg.

How to Serve Baked Oatmeal

I like to serve it with fruit and a splash of milk.
