Banana Blondies are thick and moist bars bursting with banana flavor. Topped with a sweet maple brown sugar frosting for an irresistible treat.
What are Banana Blondies?
It’s like combining banana bread and blondie bars into one. They are a super moist, fudgy, thick, and dense bar loaded with banana flavor. Topped with a sweet maple brown sugar frosting that is absolutely irresistible!
These blondies are actually really easy to make. And a perfect way to use up those ripe bananas. If you need more ripe banana recipes, check out my chocolate swirl banana bread or almond flour banana muffins.
Ingredients
How to Make Easy Banana Blondies
- Make the Blondies. Using a stand or hand mixer, beat melted butter and sugar until well mixed. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Continue to beat until very well mixed. Add flour, salt, and mashed bananas, Stir to combine.
- Bake. Spread batter into the baking dish. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the center is set. Let cool.
- Make the frosting. Add butter to a small saucepan. Melt the butter on medium heat. Once melted, stir in maple syrup and brown sugar. Bring to a boil. Once the mixture has come to a boil, remove it from the heat. Let cool for 5 minutes then whisk in the powdered sugar until smooth. Spread frosting onto the cooled blondies. Slice and serve.
Blondie Tips
- Let blondies cool completely before frosting and slicing into bars. I was impatient and tried to frost them when they were still really warm and the frosting was a bit melty.
Variations
- Add chopped nuts
Gluten-Free Banana Blondie Bars
These delicious bars can easily be made gluten-free. Just swap all-purpose flour for gluten-free all-purpose flour. I recommend this Bob’s Red Mill 1:1 gluten-free blend.
Storage
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You can refrigerate them if needed. I liked the texture of the blondie better at room temperature though.
Freeze for up to 3 months.
