Equipment

  • muffin tin
  • hand or stand mixer

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry sheet thawed
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • tbsp honey plus extra for serving
  • ¼ tsp almond or vanilla extract optional
  • 6 ripe fresh figs cut in half

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
Spray the muffin tin with non stick cooking spray.
  • Place puff pastry sheet on a clean, lightly floured surface. Lightly flour the top of the pastry. Cut pastry into 12 equal square pieces.
Pierce the middle of each square with a fork.
Place one square into each muffin tin.
  • Beat softened cream cheese, honey, and extract until smooth.
Spoon a heaping ½ tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into each puff pastry cup. Top with one fig half.
  • Bake approximately 15 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden and the fig is soft. Remove pastries from the muffin tin (use a spoon to help scoop them out if necessary). Top each pastry with a drizzle of honey. Serve.
