White Pizza is made with a quick and easy homemade dough. Drizzled with olive oil and layered with garlic herb ricotta cheese then topped with melty mozzarella and provolone cheese.
Pizza Night
We love pizza night at our house! My two girls sing “pizza… pizza party” every time we make pizza. Atley always has fun sprinkling cheese on her dough and picking out her favorite toppings. I am trying to do a pizza night once a month and hoping to continue this fun tradition throughout the years.
How to Make Pizza Dough
- In a large bowl, combine yeast, honey or sugar, and water. Let stand 5 minutes or until it bubbles.
- Add flour and salt, stir with a wooden spoon.
- Form the dough into a ball. Drizzle 1 tbsp of oil onto the outside of the dough. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm location for 15 minutes.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough a couple of times. Cut the dough in half making two equal dough balls or in fourths to make individual pizzas. Roll and/or stretch the dough out onto the pizza pan or hot pizza stone. Roll the edges to form a crust if desired.
Tips for Making the Perfect Pizza Dough
- Water temperature. Water temperature added to the yeast should be around 110°F.
- Yeast expiration. Check the expiration date on your yeast. Make sure it has not expired. I have made the mistake of using expired yeast and it does not work.
How to Make White Pizza
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, garlic, thyme, basil, oregano, and black pepper.
- Drizzle 1 tbsp of oil onto each pizza then spread it out onto the dough. Spread ½ the ricotta mixture onto each pizza. Sprinkle pizzas with shredded cheese. Top with fresh basil if desired.
- Bake 10-12 minutes until cheese and crust are golden. For individual pizzas, cook 8-10 minutes. Slice into 8 pieces using a pizza slicer and serve topped with fresh basil and red pepper.
Pizza Toppings
This pizza tastes absolutely delicious and cheesy by itself, but if you are all about the toppings here are some ideas:
- pepperoni
- prosciutto
- shredded chicken
- olives
- artichokes or hearts of palm
- spinach or arugula
- sundried tomatoes
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.

Thank you so much Marisabel, I hope you enjoy it!
Gabriela Herrera
What a great recipe and i love how it is so kid friendly. Especially in these times where we are having to homeschool our children. Home-ec here we come.
Stacy- Home Sweet Table
I love that idea Gabriela, this recipe would be a great little home-ec lesson! Kids would have fun learning to make the dough and put it all together, perfect.
Linda
This looks delish. I think I’m the only one in my family that likes to branch out with pizza (as in forgo the red and sauce and pepperoni!). I might just have to make this all for myself!
Stacy- Home Sweet Table
I know, so many people just like the classic red sauce pizzas and don’t want to branch out. So either you can make it to enjoy yourself or add some pepperoni (and other favorite toppings) and hope the family will be willing to try something a little different. Thanks Linda!
Cindy Mom, the Lunch Lady
I love white pizza and make something similar using a garlic cream sauce. I love the idea of riccota and plan on trying this next time we make homemade pizza.
Stacy- Home Sweet Table
Cindy, white sauce pizza is so good and is always nice for a change! I like the ricotta mixture because it also has garlic and herbs. Thanks, I hope you try the recipe next time!
