Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea is a mug of comforting, warm, flavorful chai spices topped with pumpkin cream.
The pumpkin cream in this recipe is inspired by the pumpkin cream cold brew at Starbucks. Which is super delicious! So I thought it would also be delicious and pair nicely with some chai tea.
Wow, there has been so much going on this past week. With the anticipation of the election results to the spike of Covid-19. Here in Colorado, we are back to a restricted number of gatherings. With some counties restricted to 5 people or less. With everything going on we need to feel comforted. What is more comforting than a warming mug of chai tea? Pumpkin cream pairs perfectly with the cozy, warming spices of chai. So take a deep breath and curl up with a warm mug of Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea.
Chai Tea
Chai tea is black tea with flavorful spices. The spices in the tea generally consist of cardamom, allspice, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, star anise, and sometimes black pepper, coriander, nutmeg, and fennel are used.
The spices in chai tea contain antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve digestion and support your immune system.

Ingredients in Pumpkin Cream Chai
Use your favorite milk or milk substitute. I used oat milk when testing this recipe. Maple syrup can also be switched out for your favorite sweetener.
How to Make Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea
- Heat in the microwave or stovetop. Fill a mug ¾ of the way full. Add a tea bag and let it steep for 4 minutes. Squeeze out the excess water from the tea bag and discard.
- Combine milk, maple syrup, pumpkin puree, vanilla, and cinnamon. Heat first if desired in the microwave or stovetop. Froth the mixture using a frother or immersion blender.
- Pour frothed milk over chai tea. Top with cinnamon if desired. Serve.
I used a frother that is attached to my coffee maker. But if you don’t have one on your coffee maker they make ones like this PowerLix handheld frother for a very reasonable price. An immersion blender can also be used.
